Teaching kids to share the space, wait their turn, and respect other climbers.

Sharing the wall
- Do not climb directly above or below someone else
- Wait your turn - let a climber finish before starting near them
- Step back from a route or boulder when you are resting so others can try
Keeping it safe for everyone
- Keep bouldering mats clear - no sitting, bags, or standing under climbers
- Look up before walking across a bouldering area
- Brush off holds and pick up belongings; tidy chalk spills
Being a good climbing citizen
- No unsolicited "beta spraying" - let others work things out unless they ask
- Cheer people on; climbing culture is encouraging by default
- Listen to staff and follow gym rules without fuss
Teaching kids kindly
Model the behaviour rather than just correcting. A quick "let’s wait for them to finish" teaches more than a telling-off. Kids who learn etiquette early become the climbers everyone is happy to share a session with.
